TobaccoCME: Continuing Education on Tobacco Cessation and Prevention

  • Free to Duke Medicine Physicians until June 30, 2007!
  • AMA PRA Category I credit available

As you know, Duke Medicine will be tobacco-free on July 4, 2007. Studies show that a physician's recommendation to quit smoking is a powerful motivator for change. Therefore, Duke Medicine (LIVE FOR LIFE and Duke Prospective Health) have partnered with TobaccoCME.com to offer free tobacco and smoking cessation education to physicians caring for Duke employees and spouses.

Courses cover the basics of tobacco cessation counseling for primary care as well as tobacco counseling for children, teens, and pregnant women. Courses may be taken individually or as a group for a certificate program. Additionally, the website offers a comprehensive resource section that includes printable patient handouts and clinical assessment forms, as well as an extensive set of links to other online resources.

If you are a Duke Medicine Primary Care Physician, you must register by clicking on the "Register Now!" tab at the top of the page.

Then proceed to the "Course List" page via the tab at the top of the page, and select which course you would like to start.
